Upload RAW files for HDR post-production

A detailed guide for photographers on how to correctly upload your shots on Setflow’s event page for HDR post-production

Steps to upload RAW files:

  1. File preparation: Ensure you have all the necessary exposures ready for HDR processing, including:
      • Underexposed shot
      • Balanced exposure shot
      • Overexposed shot
  1. File formats: Upload the files in RAW format. These files should not be pre-processed in HDR but should include all the necessary exposures to allow us to create the HDR image during post-production.
  1. Uploading:
      • Log in to the platform and navigate to the Calendar section, choose the list view, find the event and click on the arrow at the right end of it to open the Event’s page. Go on Upload shots section and click on Add shots.
      • Note: Make sure to select “month” from top right of the calendar screen instead of ”week” in case you have to upload shots for an Event not in the same week as today.
      • Select the RAW files of the three exposures (underexposed, balanced, and overexposed) and upload them following the platform's instructions.

If your RAW files exceed 4GB

  • We highly recommend exporting all your RAW files to DNG format using the following export settings in Lightroom:

  • This procedure is useful for speeding up the uploading process and preventing upload failures, as well as making it easier for editors to download the files.

Why NOT use JPEG files:

  • Since our Setflow Team of editors will work on the post-production and delivery to the final client we need RAW files. JPEG files, while lighter, are already compressed and processed, which reduces flexibility and image quality during HDR post-production.

By following these instructions, you can ensure that your images are processed to their full potential, providing the final client with a high-quality product.
